UC Philanthropy is a fair held at the University of Calgary to showcase all the work that the University of Calgary does to make the world a better place. There are currently 30 different organizations participating with initiatives ranging from the environment to human rights. To give you an idea, some of the accomplishments at the UofC this year have been going styrofoam free, sponsoring two students from refugee camps to study at the university each year and raising well over $300 000 for the United Way.
The goals of the events are to bring together all the numerous different initiatives and celebrate their progress, show people that whatever their talents, skills and passions are they can make the world a better place and to show that students want to make a difference in the world and want to continue making a difference in their future careers.
Here are just a few of the things that you will get to do at the showcase:
Meet passionate people
Learn about initiatives that make the world a better place
Learn how you can incorporate philanthropy into your life
